Importing Excel and CSV files
When creating a chart on ChartBlocks, you have a few different ways to supply data for your charts. Below are the two main ways to provide data through the use of Excel and CSV files:
The first way to create a chart using your existing data is to select the type of chart you want at the start and then provide the data further into the process. When you go to the chart creation page you'll be able to select from either a bar chart, line chart, area chart, scatter chart or pie chart.
Once you've selected the type of chart you want, you can then upload your dataset file and the data will be used to create your chart. You simply set the columns to be used for the x and y axes, select a template and your chart will be complete.
The second way to use your own dataset, is to upload the data first and then choose the type of chart you want the data to be used for. On the left hand sidebar, simply select datasets and you can either create a new set or use an existing one. Then you simply go through the same steps of selecting the type of chart you want to create and the template.
What Can I Do with My Chart?
Once you've finished creating a chart, you can customise it in any way you want. You can add data to it, change the style and template as well as sharing it to social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. You're also able to embed any charts you create on ChartBlocks on your website or WordPress blog.
