The hottest World Cup finals

With the 2014 FIFA World Cup kicking off today and the recent controversy over just how hot the weather will be for the 2022 Qatar World Cup we thought it would be a great idea to see how hot previous World Cups have been.

Plotting the average high for June in each of the World Cup final cities it's clear to see that Qatar is going to be quite an experience!

In the past few decades average June temperatures in World Cup cities have ranged from a cool 18 degrees in Johannesburg, South Africa, all the way up to 31 degrees in Rome, Italy.
